This is an interactive session that will show you how to Blend or Flip Your Writing Workshop! This approach allows students to control the time, place, path or pace of their own learning. Additionally, it provides you, the teacher, with engaging alternatives for publishing student work using online options and apps. This blended technology approach will help you gain more time to coach and conference with students, increase time for actual writing practice across all genres, and help prepare your learners to participate in the next generation of state assessments. Bring a device with you to the presentation in order to experience first hand some digital lessons.1. Attendees will take away a new approach to teaching writing using a blended model. 2. Attendees will see the Guide-on-the-Side/blended model used effectively at any grade level. 3. Attendees will receive resources, tips and tricks to help them engage writers using a variety of apps, WriteSteps, and WriteAbout.com to make the most of their individual conferencing/coaching time.
