2016 Annual NYSCATE Conference

Participants will learn about one district's successful implementation of Scratch Day. This event, part of a global network that celebrates Scratch and young people that code, highlights your district's initiative in this important new literacy (coding) and brings parents, teachers and students together in a collaborative day of learning. Our first Scratch Day, held in May 2016 was an overwhelming success. Learn what we did - from the planning to the implementation - so you can pull it off in your district next year! Participants will learn how we planned, organized and ran our first Scratch Day. Handouts will be provided, sample activities and agendas will be shared, and strategies for publicizing and celebrating our success will be provided.
