Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Create, assign, collect, and grade student work in one place paperlessly. Push out copies for all students in their individual folders. Students work, edit, turn in assignments, re-submit after edits, and collaborate directly within Classroom. Post announcements & questions in a class stream.€ Students can discuss topics. Teachers see who finished assignments, provide feedback, and grade, all in one place. Also see new features Google has added. Prizes in this session. I will be showing educators Google Classroom.€ Schools who are using Google Apps For Education automatically have Google Classroom as part of their suite of tools. It is FREE, and is designed to give teachers and students a paperless workflow. Classroom gives teachers the opportunity to create and organize assignments quickly, provide feedback, and communicate with their students as a class, or individually. Classroom allows students to write, edit, organize their work, and submit completed assignments to their teachers. Teacher can comment on student work, and return it for revisions. Students can re-submit assignments after making edits. Teacher-to-student and student-to-student collaboration is set up automatically by Classroom. Teachers can set up class rosters or give students a code to opt into a class. Students can always see what is due and when it is due by referring to the associated Classroom Calendar or the due dates in the class Stream€ Classroom even puts assignments for “all” the students'€™ classes on one page – an aid to organization. There€™s even a real-time activity stream that allows teachers to communicate with students (and students to leave comments, if teachers allow). Techniques: Participants will learn about this tool and will get ideas for using it in their own classrooms with their students. I will be showing them sample classes, how the classes were set up, how assignments and announcements are pushed out to students, how work is submitted, collected, and graded. They will see specific examples they can replicate in their own classrooms. They will see the workflow they can establish with their classes. They will see that their students can work and collaborate in a safer environment. They will also learn how to restrict access to their own students within a GAFE school. They will learn that they can create multiple classes, and even co-host classes with other teachers. They will also see they can use this tool with their colleagues for committees and administrator-teacher interactions. In addition they will see that Google Classroom is free, contains no ads, and that student data will never be used for advertising.
