With the introduction of the Student Help Desk, Bronxville has been able to leverage the technology expertise of students, giving them the freedom and the confidence to teach and empower others as well as ensuring that skills like collaboration and communication are being woven into their education. Students help teachers and fellow students with everything from hardware troubleshooting, installing software, assisting students during Hour of Code , in addition to creating tutorials, after-school classes, helping teachers create their own websites, assisting peers with a documentary film-making project, setting up systems in the high school’s new auditorium, and presenting at a conference. To maximize engagement we plan to Skype or have a Google Hangout with our students "back home". We would like them to present their thoughts on this new opportunity as well as have time for questions and answers.
