With Breakout EDU emerging on the scene as a GREAT technique for engaging students AND integrating STEAM components, educators have a unique opportunity to explore alternative instructional methods in the classroom that will engage students AND encourage critical thinking skills. This session will explore the concept behind the Breakout EDU model and will offer several additions to the methodology behind Breakout EDU that teachers can use to enhance/enrich their classrooms. QR Codes, Google Cardboard, Aurasma, AR and VR will all be shared/discussed/explored. Participants will learn that pedagogy does NOT have to be limited to skill/drill apps or consumption of information. The BEST learning takes place in the form of critical thinking, problem solving coupled with high student engagement. Participants will see Breakout EDU, how to create QR/AR Code Scavenger Hunts, and how to create your OWN Google Cardboard photosphere as an interactive activity. Elementary Teacher/Staff, Middle Teacher/Staff, Secondary Teacher/Staff, Librarian/Media Specialist
